Help Ron Through Cancer Treatment and Recovery!

What can one person say about their husband in a short space?

Ron and I have been married for 18 years. We’ve built a life together and raised a family, and to say I’m proud to be his wife would be an understatement.

From the moment I met him, Ron has been the smartest, most driven, and most supportive person I know. Even in the hardest times, he’s been my rock — always steady, always there. Behind his gruff exterior is a deeply generous spirit, a man who wants the people around him to thrive and be treated fairly. Even when he’s struggling, he still puts the needs of others before his own.

Ron dedicated 25 years of his career to law enforcement and corrections with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, retiring at the rank of Commander. Throughout his career, he served his community and worked to help keep others safe. His commitment to service didn’t end with his career, either. He has also helped establish nonprofits that support first responders and has continued serving nonprofit organizations dedicated to making a positive difference in the community. Giving back and helping others have always been important parts of who he is.

The last few years haven’t been easy for us, something I know many people can relate to. In September 2024, Ron began experiencing extreme fatigue and not feeling like himself. Initially, we thought it was stress, but continued testing showed that his health was steadily declining.

In June 2025, doctors discovered a very large polyp in his intestines — one so large it could not be removed all at once. Over the following months, multiple procedures were attempted in hopes of avoiding major surgery, but biopsies ultimately confirmed colon cancer.

After further testing, it became clear that the cancer had progressed into the intestinal wall. Ron underwent major surgery in November 2025, during which a significant portion of his intestine and multiple lymph nodes had to be removed. The subsequent testing confirmed stage 3B colon cancer, and he began an aggressive course of chemotherapy.

Finishing chemotherapy was a huge milestone, but the road to recovery has been far more difficult than we ever anticipated. Ron has experienced serious medical complications, including TIAs (strokes), and has needed occupational and physical therapy to help him recover his strength and independence. I’m continuing to look for work while also caring for him through this long and difficult process.

Unfortunately, the complications haven’t stopped there. The chemotherapy damaged his gallbladder, and it now needs to be removed. Ron has also been experiencing a great deal of pain, and doctors are concerned there may be additional cancer. He is scheduled to undergo exploratory surgery and gallbladder removal in the coming months so they can investigate further and determine what we’re facing next.

It’s difficult to put into words what it’s like to watch someone you love go through so much, especially when every time you think you’re finally turning a corner, another complication arises. We’re doing our best to take things one day at a time, but the physical, emotional, and financial toll has been significant.

Throughout all of this, the financial strain has continued. Medical bills, prescriptions, treatment-related expenses, and the everyday costs of keeping a household running don’t stop while someone is sick. With Ron’s recovery taking longer than expected and my continued search for employment, meeting these expenses has become increasingly difficult.

We’re asking for help to ease that burden. Donations will go toward Ron’s ongoing medical care, upcoming procedures, prescriptions, medical supplies and other necessary expenses, existing medical bills, and essential household costs while I’m caring for him and working to find employment.

Our hope is to give Ron the best possible chance to recover and to make sure that financial worries don’t stand in the way of the care he needs. More than anything, I want my husband to have the opportunity to heal without our family having to worry constantly about how we’ll manage the next bill.

I know times are difficult for so many people, and asking for help isn’t easy. If you’re able to donate, please know that every contribution makes a difference. If donating isn’t possible, sharing our fundraiser helps us reach people we might never otherwise connect with.

To everyone who has already donated, shared our story, checked in on us, or kept our family in their thoughts: thank you. Your kindness means more to us than we can adequately express.

We’re still taking this one day at a time, still hoping for better news, and still doing everything we can to get through this together.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ♥️
