On September 21, Real’s landscape trailer caught fire and was completely destroyed. The fire also damaged the back of his pickup truck, and Real suffered minor burns to his left arm, thankfully not severe.
This trailer wasn’t just equipment, it was his livelihood. As a landscaper, he relies on it every day to serve his clients and support his family. He estimates the total loss at around $75,000, including the trailer, tools, equipment, and truck repairs.
On October 23, Real received an insurance check for $500 as settlement for the trailer portion of his claim. Unfortunately, his policy did not include coverage for his tools and equipment, so all of that loss falls on him.
In the meantime, Real is working with a borrowed truck and minimal equipment. Donations will help cover the gap between his insurance payout and the cost of a replacement trailer and the equipment he needs, which must now be paid out of pocket.
Real is a generous, cheerful man who is always going out of his way to help others. Let’s do the same for him. Any amount helps him replace his equipment and get back to work at full capacity.
