Hello everyone. My name is Arielle and my granny's name is Brenda.
My grandmother is 80 years old and recently, she was hospitalized. She was ultimately misdiagnosed and released, which resulted in her collapsing and losing consciousness. After being taken to the hospital in Trinidad, she spent more than TEN HOURS sitting in a wheelchair waiting to receive the care she needs. As we suspected, they neglected to run all tests or even provide her with an IV during her wait.
I never imagined this is something I'd be doing, but right now I feel like I have to do everything I possibly can to help her.
My grandmother has a serious medical history. She has had three confirmed heart attacks, undergone quadruple bypass heart surgery, has high blood pressure, and has suffered four confirmed mini strokes (TIA). Her health has been worsening, and today's episode has made it clear that we need to find a way to get her more immediate and comprehensive medical care. I cannot sit by as my granny deteriorates any longer.
Our family's first priority is getting her properly evaluated and treated. I am raising money to help my family access private medical care in Trinidad if necessary, including emergency treatment, specialist appointments, cardiac and neurological evaluations, diagnostic testing, medications, transportation, hospitalization, and whatever follow-up care her doctors determine she needs.
Once she is medically stable, I am also hoping to get her an expedited passport and U.S. visitor visa so that I can bring her to the United States to stay with me temporarily and pursue further medical evaluation and treatment here.

She is my granny, she is 80 years old, and she is the glue that holds this family together. She is deserving of the entire world and so much more, and I don't want finances or long waits for care to be the reason we lose precious time with her. She has so much more ahead of her. My granny has been through more than any one person I know and raised a family all on her own. She has carried the world on her shoulders, and I want to lift her off her tired feet and give her the care she deserves.
Every dollar raised will be used toward her medical care and the expenses necessary to get her the help she needs. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser with others would mean just as much to our family.

How the funds will be used:
Donations will be deposited into my U.S. account, and I will personally use/transfer the funds to cover my grandmother's medical care in Trinidad, including hospital care, specialist appointments, diagnostic testing, medications and transportation. Funds may also be used toward her passport, visa, travel and medical expenses if she is medically cleared to come to the United States for further evaluation and treatment. I will provide updates whenever possible so everyone who helps our family can see how their support is being used.
