I’m asking for help after having approximately $4,000 worth of my personal belongings stolen from a locked locker at my gym.
I went to the gym, secured my belongings inside a locker with my own lock, and went to take a shower. When I came back, the lock was gone and everything I had placed inside was stolen.
They took my hearing aid, laptop, watch, wallet with all of my credit and debit cards, Social Security card, car keys, house keys, work keys, and other items in my book bag.
Some of these things can eventually be replaced, but the theft has created a much bigger problem than simply losing possessions. I rely on my hearing aid every day, and my laptop is important for my work. I now have to replace cards and identification, deal with the security concerns surrounding my Social Security card, and replace or secure the keys to my car, home, and work.
The stolen property alone is worth approximately $4,000. I have set my fundraising goal at $5,000 to also help cover the additional expenses caused by the theft, including replacing keys, securing accounts, replacing documents, and other unexpected costs associated with getting everything back in order.
I normally wouldn't want to ask others for financial help, but having so many important things taken at once has put me in a difficult position.
