I’m reaching out because I’ve found myself in an incredibly difficult financial situation, and I’m asking for help getting back on my feet.
My vehicle is my only source of income. I rely on it to work and support myself. Unfortunately, my alternator failed on October 30, leaving my vehicle undrivable and bringing my income to a complete stop. I’ve been unable to work since then.
Unfortunately, the timing couldn’t be worse. Several major financial obligations have come due at once, and without my vehicle, I have no reliable way to generate the income needed to catch up.
Here’s what I’m currently facing:
- $900 – Estimated alternator repair and installation.
- $1,400 – Monthly rent.
- $1,010.50 – Outstanding electric bill.
- $600 – Upcoming vehicle payment.
- $200 – Vehicle insurance payment.
That brings my immediate financial needs to approximately $4,110.50, not including additional expenses associated with an upcoming move, totaling $3000. My lease is also ending in approximately one month, which means I need to begin preparing financially for relocation while trying to keep my current housing and utilities intact.
The most important thing right now is getting my vehicle repaired. Without it, I cannot return to work. Without returning to work, I cannot begin addressing these other obligations. It’s become a difficult cycle that I cannot break without some help. I just start back going to school as my child started his 2nd year of college. Luckily, I am able to get to school by bus.
I’m not someone who finds it easy to ask for assistance. I’ve been trying to navigate these circumstances independently, but I’ve reached a point where I need a little help getting through this unexpected hardship.
I’m asking for any contribution, no matter how small. Every dollar will go toward helping me get my vehicle back on the road, maintain my housing and utilities, meet my upcoming vehicle obligations, and eventually secure a new place to live.
I also need to make an important request regarding privacy.
For personal safety reasons, I have to keep my identity and location private. Due to a DV situation that recently occurred, I must follow this protocol to stay safe. This fundraiser is being organized independently, and I won’t be sharing identifying photographs, personal contact information, or location details. I am willing to complete any necessary identity verification privately with the fundraising platform.
