Help Makayla Find Her Footing and Know She Is Not Alone
At 22, Makayla is working hard to build a life for herself after growing up in foster care. Right now, she needs something many of us have relied on during difficult seasons: people who will stand beside her when life gets hard.
Our family knows Makayla personally. She works one-on-one with Israel through his ABA therapy, and we have seen her kindness, patience, and dedication firsthand. She is smart, respectful, hardworking, and wonderful with children. She gives so much of herself to help families like ours.
Now we have an opportunity to care for her.
Makayla recently lost her primary sources of income, leaving a significant gap in her income. She is now two months behind on rent and her car has now died, making transportation to work another frustration. She is alone, without a community, and facing some serious challenges getting back on her feet.
We want Makayla to know she has people she can call. We want her to experience the love of Jesus through a Christian community willing to show up in a practical way.
Our goal is to raise at least $4,000, to catch her up on rent (so she doesn't get evicted and be homeless), and we also hope to help purchase a used care or atleast an electric bike so she has reliable transportation to work.
Every gift can help ease the crushing pressure she is carrying and give her room to regain her footing, while showing how Christians live out their faith. The message behind this is, You matter. Jesus and us love you. You do not have to face this alone.
