Hello. My name is Lesley. I would like to wish each of you reading this request, a beautiful day and most especially God’s wonderful blessing of good health! Thank you for your interest in my need.
I am a 66-year-old cancer survivor of close to twenty years, having fought and almost overcome four different cancers. I’m so grateful to have had the Lord’s loving support and encouragement throughout. “But He gives more grace” (James 4:6a).
In early 2024, I was faced once again with some difficult news. After a stubborn, prolonged cough, I was diagnosed with an aggressive, large 8cm tumor in my left lung. (Stage 3b.) Due to the tumor size and proximity to the heart, regular treatment options were ruled out. Having never smoked, this diagnosis came as a bolt out of the blue!
At that time, many dear friends and acquaintances came to our assistance, helping with financial gifts toward treatment costs. These gifts enabled me to receive specialized integrative anti-cancer therapy in Germany. Unfortunately such treatment is not available here in Japan, where my husband and I have lived for almost forty years on our mission field. Our national medical aid does not cover overseas medical expenses and we ourselves, were and are, not in a financial position to cover the cost of out-of-pocket treatment.
The treatment was successful and the cancer went into remission. I continued to be monitored at three-monthly intervals. Unfortunately, in my last scheduled CT and PET scans, the cancer was found to have returned aggressively and metastasized.
We once again put our trust in God for healing and continue to pray for the miracle we need. Concerning which action to take, from what we understand, in my present physical condition, an advanced treatment program available in Germany, offers likely the best and perhaps the only possibility of recovery. My deep hope and desire is to be able to undergo this treatment.
Our main obstacle is the funding for this to be possible, as around 40,000 euros would need to be raised very soon. Hence, this appeal for financial support to enable me to receive this treatment.
