Help Jacob Mansell Fight for his Family & Freedom!

An innocent father of three is fighting for his life against false allegations of sexual abuse. Despite professional findings of severe parental alienation and court proceedings that have challenged the allegations, the State has continued its prosecution. Now, his children are in state custody, and he faces a charge carrying mandatory life imprisonment.

Key Facts About the Case:

  1. Severe parental alienation: Court-appointed clinical psychologist Dr. Alan Taylor documented severe parental alienation involving the maternal side of the family, describing the situation as one of the worst cases he had encountered in over 40 years of practicing.
  2. Evidence of coaching: According to Jacob's legal team, medical providers and psychological experts identified evidence that the children's mother coached them to make false allegations against their father. The defense also points to a child's written retraction describing pressure to make accusations.
  3. Polygraph results: On March 16, 2026, Jacob took a polygraph examination regarding the allegations. The examiner, Woody Overton, reported "NO DECEPTION INDICATED" when Jacob denied them.
  4. Three judges ruled in Jacob's favor: Despite the pending criminal allegations, three judges issued favorable custody-related rulings following professional evaluations. Jacob regained custody of his three children in April 2026, and DCFS requests for emergency removal was repeatedly denied.
  5. Sept. 10, 2026—No probable cause established: At a preliminary examination, the State called zero witnesses. The judge found that prosecutors had not established probable cause at that hearing and relieved Jacob of his bond obligations.
  6. Sept. 14, 2026—Charges escalated: Just FOUR DAYS LATER, a grand jury indicted Jacob for first-degree rape, which carries a mandatory life sentence upon conviction. His defense says no new incriminating evidence had emerged.
  7. His children are now in DCFS custody: According to Jacob's legal team, the upgraded indictment became the basis for placing his children in state custody, despite the earlier favorable judicial decisions. He now faces three separate legal battles: criminal prosecution, civil custody litigation, and Child in Need of Care (CINC) proceedings.

Jacob is fighting not only for his freedom, but for his children and the future of his family. Your donation helps fund the legal representation and expert testimony needed across all three proceedings.

Jacob Mansell Is Innocent

Jacob is a father of three from St. Francisville, Louisiana. What began as a divorce and custody dispute has grown into a battle that threatens to take away his children and his freedom for the rest of his life.

What the Experts Found

For years, Jacob and his former wife, Brigette Williams Mansell, have been involved in contentious custody proceedings. Court-appointed psychologist Dr. Alan Taylor evaluated the family and documented severe parental alienation involving the maternal side of the family, along with serious concerns about the children's emotional well-being.

Jacob's legal team says medical providers and other experts uncovered evidence of coaching and pressure on the children to make false allegations against their father. Two psychological experts also testified that they did not believe the alleged abuse occurred. A written statement attributed to one child retracted the allegations and described pressure to make them.

The defense disputes the medical interpretations and investigative methods used to support the accusations. Jacob also underwent a polygraph examination on March 16, 2026, which reported "NO DECEPTION INDICATED" when he denied the allegations.

The Courts Returned His Children—Despite the Pending Charges

These were not concerns raised only on social media. They were presented during court proceedings. Three judges issued favorable rulings concerning Jacob's custody of his children, even though the criminal allegations were already known.

In April 2026, Jacob regained custody of all three children following professional evaluations and court proceedings. The court later continued his temporary sole custody, and multiple emergency requests by DCFS to remove the children were denied.

Then the Charges Escalated

On Sept. 10, 2026, Jacob appeared at a preliminary examination—a hearing where prosecutors have an opportunity to show a judge sufficient evidence to establish probable cause. The State called no witnesses. The judge ruled that probable cause had not been established at that hearing.

Just FOUR DAYS later, on Sept. 14, a grand jury indicted Jacob on the far more serious charge of first-degree rape, carrying a mandatory life imprisonment upon conviction.

According to his defense, the State had no new incriminating evidence—not just in those four days, but since the original charges. Meanwhile, the defense had developed expert opinions, concerns about coaching, and other information challenging the accusations. The defense points out that the case against Jacob was growing weaker, not stronger.

And then came the consequence that changed his children's lives: the upgraded indictment became the basis for placing all three children in DCFS custody. Jacob's attorneys argue that the more serious criminal charge accomplished what repeated requests to remove the children had not: it displaced the earlier custody rulings and separated Jacob from his children. That happened without any new incriminating evidence identified by the defense.

Jacob is now fighting to reunite his family while defending himself against a charge that could imprison him for life.

Three Legal Battles. One Father's Future.

Jacob urgently needs the resources to fight three simultaneous proceedings:

  1. Criminal: Defending himself against a first-degree rape indictment.
  2. Civil custody: Protecting his parental rights and relationships with his children.
  3. Child in Need of Care (CINC): Fighting through the child welfare proceedings while his children are in DCFS custody.

His legal team anticipates at least four expert witnesses or consultants, along with substantial attorney fees, investigation, records review, and trial preparation. Fighting one case is expensive. Fighting three at once can financially exhaust a family before the cases are resolved.
