A 14 year old girl shoud be worrying about school, friendships, and enjoying her teenage years - not whether her family will be torn apart.
Meet Isabel, a courageous 14 year old girl living in Minnesota whose world was turned upside down when her parents became caught in the immigration detention system.
On January 4th, 2026 Isabel's mother, Yesenia, was taken into immigration custody and transferred to a detention facility in Houston, Texas.
Imagine being a young girl and suddenly having your mother taken away, not knowing when you will see her again.
Her father, Armando, was also detained, leaving Isabel separated from both of her parents.
For months, this family has faced unimaginable uncertainity, fear, and heartbreak.
But their story is also one of extraordinary faith, perserverance, and love.
A community becomes a family.
When Isabel's world was shaken, people in her Minnesota community stepped forward.
Friends, neighbors, teachers, volunteers, and people of faith surrounded her with love.
They beocame extra mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, and grandparents.
They helped provide transportation, emotional support, encouragement, and the everyday things a child needs to feel safe and loved.
People prayed together, raised money, advocated for the family, and reminded Isabel that she was not forgotten,
Because no child should have to face something like this alone.
Faith through the storm.
Even during her detention, Yesenia held tightly to her faith in Jesus Christ.
She prayed, encouraged other women, and built friendships through prayer.
Through the uncertainity Armando has also continued trusting God.
After months of separation, Yesenia was finally released and reunited with Isabel.
It was an answer to many prayers.
But their journey is not over.
After the difficulty of being separated from her parents, 14-year-old Isabel is now facing her own immigration court proceedings where she faces the possibility of deportation to Venezuala, where serious safety concerns remain. When her family first entered the United States, a paralegal made errors in their paperwork, resulting in separate immigration cases instead of having the family processed together as intended. When the family requested to move their cases to Minnesota, both parents’ requests were accepted, but Isabel’s was denied. This forced Isabel to travel to Texas for court, adding more emotional and financial stress to an already heartbreaking situation.
Now, Isabel needs her own immigration attorney and has an upcoming court date involving an appeal. After months of separation, uncertainty, and thousands of dollars already spent on legal expenses, this family continues to face overwhelming challenges. No 14-year-old should have to navigate such a complicated legal system without proper representation. Your donations will help cover Isabel’s attorney fees, court-related expenses, and the ongoing costs of keeping this family supported.
To add to this situation, Armando remains in immigration detention, and his family continues waiting and praying for the day they can be together again.
Isabel and her family continue facing the emotional and financial challenges of navigating a complicated immigration system.
Why we are raising money.
This fundraiser is about helping a young girl and her family find stability, security, and hope during an incredibly difficult season.
Donations will help support:
- Immigration attorney fees and legal expenses
- Isabel's everyday needs and family living expenses
- Transportation and costs associated with immigration proceedings
- Other essential expenses as the family works toward stability and reunification
Every donation, whether $5, $20, $50, or more, can make a difference.
And if you cannot give financially, your prayers and sharing this story mean so much.
Love Your Neighbor.
This is not about politics.
It is about compassion.
It is about a 14 year old girl who loves her mom and dad.
It is about a family doing everything they can to remain together.
It is about choosing to love our neighbors, carry one another's burdens, and care for those walking through difficult circumstances.
Jesus reminds us:
"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ" - Galations 6:2
We may not all agree on immigration policies, but we can agree that children deserve love, compassion, stability, and hope.
How You Can Help
- Please consider making a donation, sharing this fundraiser, or lifting Isabel, Yesenia, and Armando up in prayer.
- Pray for wisdom for their attorneys, compassion throughout the legal process, strength for this family, and an opprotunity for them to be reunited.
Our prayer is that Isabel will once again be able to sit at the dinner table with both her mom and dad.
Until that day comes, we will continue walking beside them.
Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus.
Thank you for loving your neighbor.
And thank you for reminding Isabel that she is not alone.
With faith, hope, and love, we believe that even in the hardest seasons, God is still at work.
Every gift matters. Every prayer matters. Every act of kindness matters.
