A Halloween Night That Changed Everything
On Halloween night, what should have been an evening filled with costumes, candy, laughter, and childhood memories turned into an unimaginable tragedy for Hudson Carter and his family.
Hudson was trick-or-treating with his older brother and friends when, in the excitement of Halloween, he ran to cross a street and was struck by a vehicle.
Hudson was critically injured and Life Flighted to Primary Children's Hospital, where he remains in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Hudson is currently in a medically induced coma, fighting to heal from several serious injuries, including:
- Multiple skull fractures
- Brain swelling and bleeding
- Broken ribs
- A fractured pelvis
- Retinal damage
- Additional internal injuries
Hudson's family is facing every parent's worst nightmare. His road to recovery is uncertain, and while we remain hopeful and pray for his healing, we know he may require extensive medical care, rehabilitation, and ongoing treatments and therapies.
Why We Are Asking for Help
Hudson was previously covered by Medicaid but currently has no active medical insurance coverage.
Between his emergency Life Flight transport, ICU hospitalization, specialized medical care, and future rehabilitation needs, the financial burden will be substantial.
All donations raised will go directly toward Hudson's medical bills, treatments, therapies, rehabilitation, and ongoing recovery needs.
Our hope is to ease as much of this financial burden as possible so Hudson's family can focus on what matters most: being by his side and helping him heal.
A Special Request for Compassion
As we ask for prayers for Hudson, we also want to ask for prayers for Gandyn, his older brother who was greatly traumatized by this and experiencing a horrible thing happen to his little brother. Also the 16-year-old girl who was driving the vehicle involved in this heartbreaking accident.
This tragedy has affected more than one family, and we recognize that this young girl is also going through something incredibly difficult.
Please extend the same love, kindness, compassion, and prayers to her and her family.
This is not a time for blame or judgment. It is a time for love, healing, understanding, and compassion for everyone involved.
