Hello, my name is Patricia Vaughn and I am coming to those of you that can do anything to help.
I have been caring for an 89 year old gentleman for 8 years. He has been a friend for 25 years and I have, at his request, been his in-home caretaker for the last 8 years. During the last 8 months, his health had deteriorated due to a very bad urinary tract infection. So, I have been on a cot next to him, either in the hospital or physical rehab center. His niece, who has only visited him 3 times in the last 8 years, has tried to get him in a nursing home each of those times; which is why he asked me to stay and take care of him; he wanted to live at home until he passed. The niece, even though I have his POA, healthcare surrogacy and his medical POA, did some very shady things and got me thrown out of the hospital, moved him and then filed an injunction to keep me from seeing him or even sending someone to check on him threw myself and the other person who helped take care of him out of the house. We barely got 2 of the dogs out of the house and had to get animal control to get his other dog out. She left 2 cats without food or water for 9 days and then just let them out of the house. One of them deals with a severe allergy to flea bites and shouldn't be outside. We can't go and get them without going to jail.
Rufus, the gentleman, needs someone staying in the room with him. She doesn't care. She just put him in the nursing home and went back to Virginia. To top it all off she ha thrown all of his, mine, and the other person's things in dumpsters. Everything we own, gone, except the very few things we could grab in about 10 minutes. We need a lawyer and I need to file an emergency petition this the morning to cause her to cease and desist!!! It costs $400+ that GOD will have to supply. The 2 of us and 2 of the dogs are living in a weekly hotel and it is paid through tomorrow. I am on disability due to a back injury and fibromyalgia which means funds are tight. Please help us with anything you can, including prayer. We want to save him from dying and save his home and belongings from what she did to his brother about a year ago. She put him in a nursing home, sold his house, car, and took every dime he had. This is what she is trying to do to Rufus. It's breaking my heart.
