Help Fight For Aussie Mum's Freedom

Holly, a mother from the NSW Central Coast, is facing up to five years in prison after being arrested and charged by the Australian Federal Police with six counts of publicly displaying a prohibited Nazi symbol.

Each count carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 12 months in jail, with a maximum of five years per count.

As if this situation wasn't stressful enough, she is going through a separation now making her a single mother fighting these unjust laws independently. Holly needs to be able to keep her freedom so she can work and raise her 14 year old daughter.

Police allege she reposted videos and images on X between August and September 2026. These included archival footage of Nazi Germany showing swastikas in historical rallies and parades, as well as meme-style images. One alleged post was an image reading “love your race” that featured a sonnenrad and swastika; others reportedly contained similar symbols.

She is due to appear in Gosford Local Court early December. The charges fall under section 80.2H of the Commonwealth Criminal Code laws tightened with bipartisan support after the Bondi attack. These laws make the 12-month jail term mandatory for publicly displaying prohibited Nazi symbols, including online.

This case raises serious free-speech concerns. While the law includes limited exemptions for genuine historical, educational, or journalistic purposes, or displays intended to oppose Nazi ideology, the threshold for prosecution is low and the penalties are severe.

Ordinary Australians can now face automatic prison time simply for reposting historical footage or images on social media.

Whether or not one agrees with the content, locking up a mother under a mandatory minimum for online posts sets a troubling precedent.

Legal defence in these federal matters is expensive. Funds raised will help cover Holly’s legal costs so she can properly fight the charges and test any available defences. (such as historical or other exemptions where they may apply).

If you believe free speech should not result in mandatory jail for social-media activity of this kind, please consider contributing. Holly needs us and our support.

All proceeds go toward her defence.

We will start the amount needed at $10,000, but will raise it upon legal advice if required.
