Last Thursday, Elena and her family experienced something no family is ever prepared for — a fire in the home they were renting.
Thankfully, Elena and her family are safe, but the fire has forced them to unexpectedly leave their home. They are currently staying in a hotel while they search for a new place to live and begin figuring out what comes next.
Many of you know Elena as one of the warm and welcoming faces at the front desk of our building. She is a genuinely kind and caring woman who is always ready with a smile, a friendly conversation, and a willingness to help others.
Now, we have an opportunity to return some of that kindness.
We are coming together as a community to help Elena and her family with the unexpected expenses that come with being displaced — temporary lodging, meals, replacing necessities, moving expenses, deposits on a new home, and the many other costs that arise when life changes overnight.
Any amount, large or small, will make a difference as they work toward getting back on their feet and finding a new place to call home.
