My sister-in-law, Alexandria Jakeman, has had her health deteriorate rapidly over the last year. She went from hiking nearly every day to being wheelchair bound and unable to care for most of her own basic needs. After a lot of doctor's visits and tests, she has been diagnosed with epilepsy and a rare neurological condition, with further diagnoses potentially forthcoming. After several weeks in the hospital and rehab, she is finally back home with her family.
Unfortunately, her home is NOT wheelchair friendly. Their congregation has kindly offered to build her a wheelchair ramp, but they need to raise the funds to do so. Materials are estimated at around $1800, so we are asking for $2000 to include any potential unexpected project costs.
She is also working toward getting an electric wheelchair to help with mobility, so they will need a wheelchair van eventually, or at the very least a wheelchair carrier that connects to a hitch. They are drowning financially with all the added medical and travel costs associated with her care. As such, we will add stretch goals to this fundraiser if we meet our initial $2000 goal.
Thank you for considering a donation and for standing with Alexandria and her family. Your support would mean so much.
