Help 11-Year-Old VIHANSA with Thalassemia - Urgent

Hello everyone,

I am the father/mother of L.P.T. Vihansa Jayalath from Wadurassa, Daladagama, Mahawa, Kurunegala, Sri Lanka.

My son was born on 09.12.2015. He is 11 years old now. Since he was 3 months old, he has been suffering from Thalassemia Major. He is under file number 1054 at the National Thalassemia Center, Teaching Hospital, Kurunegala.

His daily life is very painful. Every night, a machine is connected to his body to remove the excess iron from his blood. This is called Iron Chelation Therapy. If we do not do this operation, his organs will be damaged and his life will be in danger.

The only permanent cure for this disease is a Bone Marrow Transplant. Narayana Health Hospital in India has told us it will cost $54,000 USD for the surgery alone. With travel, medicine, and other expenses, we need around $70,000 - $80,000 USD.

We have collected some money with everyone's help, but it is not enough.

My son Vihansa always asks me, "Amme, will I never get better? Will we not be able to find money? I can't live without you." I cannot bear this pain and sadness anymore.
