Edith has PANS. This is a pediatric acute neuro psychiatric syndrome that causes brain inflammation. It is triggered by an over active immune response that reacts in the brain and causes inflammation. For Edith, this manifests with rage, severe mood changes, tics, ocd like symptoms, anxiety, and many other symptoms. While we work with specialists to navigate this, we humbly ask for help.
Our girl is in there and she needs help. She deserves her childhood to not look like constant flares, constant fight or flight.
As we approach what healing looks like for her, we know that it could be a long road and years of healing. We want the best for her, but also know that insurance does not cover any of her treatments or specialists. Everything we do or will be doing for her is out of pocket. We have set a 5k goal on here, but the reality is that this is just the beginning.
