Bread & Light Kenya:The Children Of Mugumo
In the village of Mugumo, over 100 children walk two hours each way to the nearest school. Most leave home without breakfast. Many of their parents work as daily laborers, and when the rains fail, the whole village goes hungry together.
Last winter, our volunteers arrived with rice, lentils, school books and a small box of Bibles in swahili. Parents who had never learned to read stood at the edge of the circle, listening.
The whole village has turned from waiting for help into building something together.
But Mugumo is just one of thousands of villages still waiting.
