Save Rockin' LJ Animal Sanctuary from Foreclosure

Since 2003, I’ve dedicated my life to rescuing, healing, and caring for neglected and abused animals—especially horses with nowhere else to go.

Here in the Oklahoma Panhandle, Rockin LJ Wildlife Rescue & Equine Sanctuary has become a rare safe haven. Many of the animals here are blind, injured, or too traumatized to be adopted. For them, this isn’t just land—it’s the only home they’ll ever know.

Now, our sanctuary is at risk of being taken away.

How We Got Here

I bought this land with cash over 20 years ago. I never imagined it would be taken from me.

But in 2008, after my husband suffered a stroke, I discovered he had secretly mortgaged our home—without my knowledge. I had suffered a traumatic back injury and was heavily medicated, My husband asked me to sign something at that time.  I had no idea what I was signing, I never saw a dollar. But I was left with the debt.

In 2017, I began fighting to save this sanctuary in court. Every dollar I earned—driving trucks, doing whatever work I could—went into legal fees and animal care. I’m now representing myself, pro se, because I can’t afford an attorney. I’ve filed the Trust, General Power of Attorney, and UCC Financing Statement to defend what’s rightfully mine.

But I’m running out of time—and resources.

Why I’m Asking for Help

I’ve never been one to ask. But friends have urged me: “You need help. Please ask.”

So I am. I am embarrassed to admit I am going without food some days so I can feed the animals well.  

I’m asking for help not for myself, but for the animals—many of whom cannot survive being moved or displaced. They are elderly, blind, or medically fragile. If we lose this land, we lose everything.

 How Your Support Helps

• For the immediate foreseeable legal expenses I need to continue to fight this attempted sham foreclosure of my sanctuary and home.

I am working as work is offered to me. I live simply. The animals of my sanctuary

could use more but defending my place is financially taking its toll on all of us. But you can see from their condition, they are not the ones suffering.

This case is being heard in District Court, First Judicial District, Texas County, Oklahoma – Case No. CJ-2024-25.

I have the only legal proof of Right, Title, and Interest.  I need your help and support to see this through.
