Many of you know Gammy from her relentless work raising her voice as an advocate for the rights of Coloradans, most especially our children. She speaks constantly at every opportunity in public comments, on social media, and a furious pace of emails to more officials and organizations that most could keep track of. At 76 years old, she is a truly remarkable woman.
Gammy has been struggling greatly with her health for the last year, and finally had no choice to go to the Emergency Room. She recently underwent surgery and is currently home recovering. She needs help to get back on her feet and keep her bills paid until she is well enough to be able to work again.
If you know Gammy in person, you know she has the energy of several people and a heart bigger than most could bear. She is also extremely stubborn and unwilling to ask for help because she doesn't want to be a burden. I would ask all of you who know Gammy and are able, to help me show her that she is a blessing. The truth is, is every American was half as engaged and tenacious as Gammy Sparkles, we would be in a much better place as a nation.
Gammy is a true fighter. It is humbling to know how much energy she puts in to using her voice. Please keep Gammy in your thoughts, and chip in a few dollars if you are able.
