He stood his ground during a terrifying confrontation outside his home, yet now he sits behind bars, convicted for saving his own life and his fiancée’s. I’m raising funds to help my brother secure an experienced attorney who can appeal his case and expose the injustice that occurred. During a violent attack outside his home, my brother acted in self-defense to protect himself and his fiancée. Despite clear evidence and multiple witnesses confirming he was calm and cooperative, he was found guilty — largely because his court-appointed attorney failed to defend him properly.

His constitutional rights were violated through ineffective assistance of counsel, denial of due process, and improper jury instructions. The prosecution withheld crucial material evidence, including four 911 recordings, and allowed false testimony to go uncorrected.

The man who attacked them was over twice the legal limit for alcohol, high on multiple drugs, and had a violent criminal record, including attempted murder. My brother and his fiancée, both disabled, were terrified as he charged at them in a drug-fueled rage. Desperate to protect her, my brother fired a single shot that tragically struck the man in the heart. He immediately called 911 and fully cooperated with police.

All police reports confirmed he was sober, calm, and compliant, yet false witness statements claiming he was intoxicated were allowed in court. Key evidence that could have proven his innocence was never presented.

We are now fighting for his appeal and for a fair chance at justice. Every dollar raised will go directly toward retaining a competent defense attorney who can right this wrong.
