Our New Beginning Never Came — Now We're Fighting to Rebuild
We are a family of six — two parents and our four children — trying to rebuild our lives after the new beginning we had hoped and prayed for did not happen.
For a long time, we believed we were going to have the opportunity to start a new chapter. We went through a long and difficult process, waited, hoped and prepared ourselves for a different future for our children.
But on 30 June 2026, we received the news that we would not be able to move forward with the opportunity we had been hoping for.
It was heartbreaking.
But after the disappointment, we had to put our feelings aside and focus on our four children and what comes next.
We have decided that we will not give up. We are going to rebuild.
Our biggest goal is not simply to get through today. It is to get our family back on its feet and become financially independent again.
My husband is a self-employed construction and renovations worker. Having reliable transportation and the proper equipment would allow him to travel to clients, take on jobs and rebuild his income.
I am also working toward starting online teaching, so that I can contribute financially while caring for and teaching our children from home. I need equipment to make that possible as well.
OUR REBUILDING GOAL
We are hoping to raise R85,000 to give our family the foundation we need to start again:
R50,000 — Reliable family vehicle
A practical used vehicle would help us transport our children and, importantly, allow my husband to travel to work and clients.
R15,000 — Work equipment
Equipment and tools for my husband's construction and renovation work, as well as the equipment I need to begin online teaching.
R20,000 — Children's necessities
R5,000 for each of our four children to help provide the clothing, educational supplies and other essential things they currently need.
We're asking for a hand up, not a handout.
We know that R85,000 is a large goal, and we don't expect one person to make it happen.
Whether someone gives R50, R100, R500 or more, every contribution brings us one step closer.

Our hope is that with the right support, we can turn this difficult chapter into the beginning of something better — a vehicle to help us work, equipment to help us earn, and the essentials our children need while we rebuild.
