We are the Sherman family, my name is Hannah, my husband is Greg, and we have three beautiful little ones, including our baby girl born September 29th. My husband recently had a skin cancer operation, and will be out of work for two weeks. On top of previous medical bills through my pregnancy, and Greg’s already fragmented work schedule as an independent contractor, we find ourselves struggling to make ends meet.
Myself as a traditional portrait artist, commission work is difficult to come by in this new age. I am also homeschooling our 5 year old girl, leaving less time than desired for a remote job. Any funds I could supply with one would hardly scratch the surface of what we’ll need in the coming months. Missing out on Greg’s paycheck will put us far in the red where we were previously floating.
He is not one to ask for help like this, and honestly neither am I. When we have been in a better position, we were the ones supporting our friends and insisting for nothing in return. However, witnessing how strong he’s trying to be for us is hurting my heart and I don’t know what else I can do to relieve the burden of carrying the entire family on his shoulders. We are both working hard to pull ourselves out, but a leg up into the coming year would help skyrocket us to a safer place financially.
