Our Story of Love, Family, Faith, and the Fight We Never Saw Coming
There are moments in life when everything changes in an instant. Moments when the future you imagined suddenly looks different, when the plans you've made are replaced with uncertainty, and when the only thing you know to do is fall to your knees and trust God.
This is our story. A story of love, family, unexpected storms, unwavering faith, and a man named Jordon who means the absolute world to so many people.
Before I tell you about the cancer, I want to tell you about the man.
Jordon is my husband, my best friend, my partner in life, and one of the greatest blessings God has ever given me. Together, we've built a life filled with love, laughter, memories, and the kind of beautiful chaos that comes with a big family.
We are blessed with three children, Madison, Eli, and Tatum, and five precious grandchildren, Andrew, Mason, KJ, Eastyn, and Madelynn, with one more little blessing on the way.
If you know anything about our family, you know that our children and grandchildren are the heartbeat of our lives. They are our joy, our laughter, our reasons to celebrate the little things, and constant reminders of just how good God has been to us.
But above all else, Jordon is a man who believes in God.
And this year, that faith has been tested in ways neither of us could have ever imagined.
When the First Storm Came
In February 2026, our family experienced an unexpected setback when I lost my job.
For someone who has always worked hard, built a career, and taken pride in helping provide for our family, it was devastating. Suddenly, the security we had known was shaken. The uncertainty of what came next was overwhelming.
There were countless job applications, interviews, prayers, disappointments, and moments when I questioned why doors kept closing.
But through it all, Jordon was there.
While I struggled to understand God's timing, we continued to pray, trust, and believe that He had a plan, even when we couldn't see it.
We reminded ourselves that our circumstances did not determine God's goodness.
Little did we know, the job loss that felt like our biggest storm was only the beginning of a much harder season.
The News That Changed Everything
In October 2026, our world was turned upside down.
After weeks of Jordon not feeling like himself, growing weaker, losing weight, and experiencing pain, we received news no family is ever prepared to hear.
My husband has non small cell lung cancer, a mass on his spine and has spread to rib area.
Cancer.
It's a word that changes everything. A word that makes time seem to stand still. A word that brings questions you never thought you'd have to ask and fears you never imagined you'd face.
We went from worrying about finding me a job and getting our finances back on track to sitting in hospital rooms, listening to doctors, discussing treatments, and trying to understand what our new reality would look like.
Those words are difficult to describe. How do you process something like that? How do you look at the person you love, the person you've built a life with, and imagine the road ahead?
There are moments when I feel strong and moments when the tears come without warning.
But even in the middle of the heartbreak, there is something that hasn't changed.
Our faith in God.
A Faith That Doesn't Depend on Circumstances
One thing this season has taught me is that faith isn't just believing God is good when life is going the way we planned.
Faith is trusting Him when nothing makes sense.
It's praying when you're exhausted. It's worshiping through tears. It's believing that God is still present in the hospital room, in the sleepless nights, in the financial uncertainty, and in every unanswered question.
Jordon's faith is part of the foundation of our family.
We don't know what tomorrow holds. We don't have all the answers. And I would be lying if I said we weren't afraid sometimes.
But we do know Who holds tomorrow.
We believe in the power of prayer. We believe in God's promises. We believe that even in our darkest valleys, He has not abandoned us.
One scripture that speaks so deeply to this season is Romans 8:28:
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
We may not understand the purpose behind this pain, but we are choosing to trust the One who sees the entire picture.
Our testimony isn't that life has been easy.
Our testimony is that even when life has been unbearably hard, God has continued to carry us.
What We're Fighting For
When I look at Jordon, I don't just see a cancer diagnosis.
I see the man I married.
I see a man who still has memories to make, hugs to give, birthdays to celebrate, stories to tell, aisle to walk down, dance comps and another precious grandbaby on the way to meet.
I see the life we've built together and all the moments we're praying God will allow us to continue sharing.
We are not allowing cancer to define who Jordon is.
Cancer may be part of our story, but it is not the whole story.
Our story is about love. It's about family. It's about holding on to each other when life gets hard. It's about choosing faith over fear, even when fear feels overwhelming.
And it's about finding reasons to be grateful in the middle of circumstances we never would have chosen.
Why We're Asking for Help
As difficult as it is to share our story publicly, we've reached a point where we realize we cannot walk through this season alone.
After losing my job in February, our family was already navigating the financial challenges of living on one income. Now, with Jordon facing cancer treatments, medical appointments, medications, and the uncertainty of what lies ahead, the emotional and financial weight has become even greater.
We are doing everything we can to stay strong, protect our family, and focus on what matters most: Jordon's health and the time we have together.
Any donations received will help relieve the burden of medical-related expenses, travel to appointments, household bills, and the everyday financial responsibilities that don't stop simply because life has taken an unexpected turn.
Asking for help isn't easy. But we've learned that sometimes God answers prayers through the kindness, generosity, and love of other people.
If you feel led to give, please know that every donation, regardless of the amount, means more than words could ever express.
And if you're unable to donate, we ask for something equally precious: your prayers.
- Pray for Jordon's strength.
- Pray for his comfort.
- Pray for wisdom for his medical team.
- Pray for our children and grandchildren as we navigate this journey together.
- Pray for peace in the moments when fear tries to take over.
And
- please pray that through it all, our family continues to be a testimony of God's faithfulness.
Our Story Isn't Finished
I don't know what the coming weeks or months will bring.
I don't know why our family has been asked to walk through so much in such a short amount of time.
But I do know this:
I love my husband with all my heart. Our children and grandchildren adore him. And we are going to cherish every moment, celebrate every victory, and face each new day together.
We are holding tightly to our faith, our family, and each other.
One day, I hope our children and grandchildren look back on this chapter of our lives and remember more than the hardship.
- I hope they remember the prayers.
- The love.
- The people who showed up.
And most importantly, I hope they remember that even when life didn't make sense,
- we never stopped trusting God.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, for loving our family, and for walking alongside us during one of the most difficult seasons of our lives.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
With love, faith, and gratitude,
Jordon, Andrea, and our family
