Recently, my brother and I experienced a home invasion while we were at work. The intruders had stolen about $7,500 in various items before the police showed up and let them escape through the back door which we were assured was closed by law enforcement but was wide open for 4 hours.
Due to the safety issues arising from the intruders not getting to take all of the valuables, knowing what other valuables remained, and the inability of law enforcement to be relied upon (which we are actively investigating), we had to make the hard and immediate choice to make an emergency move to protect our remaining valuables as well as our two cats.
Funds raised here will help offset the $5000 insurance won’t cover in property loss, as well as help offset the cost of the move to include having to pay for 2 rental locations for the foreseeable future.
