Dear friends,
Many of you know the struggles Eloise and our family have gone through the last 4 years to help her get speech. We’ve sought help from multiple specialists and numerous speech therapists. In our efforts, we’ve located a new speech therapist with specialized training in Eloise’s needs - oral motor therapy. She was evaluated this week and responded exceedingly well in just the evaluation.
We pray this new speech therapist will be the answer. We know in our hearts from Exodus 4:11 that only the Lord can give her the words she desires. We also know He is still doing miracles today. He could open her mouth today if it’s His will. We plan to continue down the speech therapy path unless He guides us another way.
Today, we’re coming to our community who have prayed, asked for updates, and walked alongside this journey to prayerfully consider contributing to the financial burden. As most of you know, this is David’s last year of his bachelors degree. Between college for him and speech therapy for her, our finances have quickly drained. We hope to do 3 therapy appointments a week if we can financially cover it. The cost for 1 year at 3 visits a week will be roughly $7800. After that year, David will be graduated and we will be prepared to take on this expense. This has not been an easy decision to humble ourselves to make but we know the Lord gives us a community to help share burdens.
Please do not feel any obligation to give. We know He gives and takes away and if this is the path the Lord wants for Eloise, He will provide a way.
