A Fundraiser for Ollie and The Bishops

The "Tail" of Ollie's Recovery & Subsequent Fundraiser for The Bishops:

Love comes in many forms...in this case, a little fury family member!

Approximately two years ago, a baby Frenchton Bulldog joined the family of Lynn and Gary Bishop and was given the name Ollie. For two years, Ollie lived a normal, happy life, until January 11, 2026, when Ollie's leg got caught in a couch cushion while jumping and playing with another fury family member, suddenly triggering progressive leg paralysis. By the next morning, Monday, January 12, all of Ollie's legs were paralyzed! The Bishops rushed Ollie to his local veterinarian who promptly referred Ollie to the Animal Health Center, College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State, and an evaluation was scheduled the next day. During the evaluation, the Bishops were told that Ollie needed an immediate surgery called C2-C3 ventral slot to decompress his spinal cord from C2-C3. Unbeknownst to the Bishops, Ollie's breed is predisposed to intervertebral disc disease. Due to Ollie's young age and the Bishop's big hearts, they elected to proceed with the surgery. The surgery was successful, and Ollie is expected to make a full recovery with at home physical therapy performed by the Bishops. Ollie has since had his 4-week post-surgery follow-up appointment at MSU-CVM's Neurology Dept., and he is now discharged as he has "significantly improved!" This outcome is such a blessing; however, our dear friends, Lynn and Gary Bishop, now face hefty surgical fees and expenses. The purpose of this fundraiser is to help our friends eliminate these costs so they can put this unexpected trial behind them.
A Short "Paws" from the Organizer: My name is Christine, and I'm a co-worker of Lynn's. Within a few minutes of being around Lynn, one quickly discovers the most important things in her life: Jesus, family, friends/co-workers, church family, showing love towards others, and last but not least, her animals. I was sharing with my daughter (who is a college student and an occasional summer and holiday co-worker of ours) about Ollie's "recovery tail," and my daughter immediately said, "We should start a fundraiser!" That reaction was the spark that ignited this movement along with some discussions amongst coworkers and others. What a great season to LOVE forward! Will you share a blessing today? Thank you in advance for your generosity!

Please help us meet our goal!
