Help a Disabled Dad Stay Housed
I never imagined I would have to ask for help like this, but I am disabled, unable to work, and facing homelessness on November 1. I was denied disability benefits because I was told I did not have enough qualifying work credits from my self-employment history. I have applied for SSI, but I may have to wait up to 200 days for an answer—and even if I am approved, the benefits will not be enough to cover my bills. My family has helped as much as they can, but they are no longer able to support me financially. I also reached out to the church I attend, but they are unable to help. I am connected to medical equipment 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so losing my home would put my health and safety at serious risk.
I am the father of three young daughters, and I am terrified of what will happen if I cannot keep a safe place to live. I want to be here for my girls, and I do not want them to see their dad become homeless while struggling with so many medical issues. I am asking for help covering housing, utilities, and essential bills while I wait for a decision on SSI and work toward a more stable situation. Any donation, no matter the amount, will help me keep a roof over my head and a safe place to use the medical equipment I depend on. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this campaign or keeping my family in your prayers. Thank you for reading my story and for any kindness and support you can give. God bless you.
