Raising Support for Urgent Dental Needs for Zach.
I am raising funds to help Zach address a chronic dental issue. Zach has periodontal disease, and a recent dental exam identified his current needs: extraction of his remaining teeth and a complete set of dentures. Zach has lost several teeth over the past year and several others are loose. Donations will help cover this care.
About Zach: Zach is a 45-year-old adult who was born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. He was abandoned by his mother at 2 years of age and became a ward of the state. During his child and adolescent years he was placed in multiple foster homes, treatment centers, and independent living programs. I met Zach when he was at a treatment center in East Texas where I worked. When he graduated from the program I continued to help with Zach's personal needs and care over the years.
Zach currently serves as a grounds and facility maintenance assistant as a resident of a private program that provides services for people with special needs.
Despite Zach's life challenges and limitations, he has maintained an incredible zest for life and brings joy to everyone he meets. He is limited intellectually, but he is very talented with regard to athletics and work ethic, and he has proven time and again that he can overcome any challenge that life has thrown his way.
