Dave and his wife, Kristen, met in college at Moody Bible Institute nearly 30 years ago. To know them is to be loved, supported, and encouraged by them. They walk the walk of sacrificial love, not only in public, but every day at home with each other and their children. 

Dave’s life reflects kindness, humility, and a heart devoted to serving others. He is a loving husband, a steady friend, and someone whose humor and quiet strength have blessed countless people. Today, he is facing a difficult and unexpected battle: Stage 4 Metastatic Colorectal Cancer.

Dave is a small-business owner and operator. As a full-time carpenter, he will likely not be able to work while in full-time treatment. The financial weight of cancer and loss of income is more than the family can manage alone. This fundraiser is so we can all do something and stand with them near and far. Every donation will help cover the family’s essential needs – housing, bills, and food - as well as any medical bills and treatments not covered by insurance, allowing them to focus on healing rather than financial strain.

This news has come suddenly, and along with it, pain and uncertainty. It has also revealed Dave and Kristen’s unshakeable faith. In the midst of their suffering, they are filled with gratitude – they are grateful to have health insurance, thankful for the support of their friends and family, and ultimately, grateful to be loved by a God who is not surprised by cancer and hates it as much as they do. He is their very present help in a time of need.
