My wife, Janae, has spent much of her life caring for others.
She began as a single mother raising our oldest daughter, Cheila. When we married, I had the privilege of adopting Cheila, and together we welcomed three more daughters: Elliana, Madelyn, and Anabell. Today, Cheila is married with a daughter of her own, Myla, making Janae a proud grandmother.
Janae has devoted her life to our family, homeschooling our girls and working tirelessly to give them a healthy, loving home. She's also a faithful friend who consistently prays for others, shares the love of Christ, and stands firmly for what she believes is right.
Now, Janae is facing a battle we never expected.
She has been diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer, a rare neuroendocrine atypical carcinoid tumor. Her surgeon and oncologist have described her particular case as exceptionally rare. Because of the tumor's location, specialists at Huntsman Cancer Institute have recommended removing her entire left lung within the next six months.
This has become a heavy weight on our family. While we navigate difficult medical decisions, our three younger daughters are also navigating important years of their own, growing into young women and preparing for their futures. We want to be as present for them as possible during this season.
We are incredibly grateful for our health insurance and that we've been able to cover medical expenses from our savings up to this point. However, between insurance deductibles and out-of-pocket costs that will span two calendar years, travel for care, and additional testing and treatments not covered by insurance, we anticipate $40,000-50,000 in expenses, with the possibility of more following surgery.

Through all of this, our faith in Jesus Christ remains our anchor. We've found tremendous encouragement in the Psalms and James 1, and we continue to pray for complete healing while trusting in God's sovereignty, whatever the outcome.
