Dear friends, family and acquaintances in the circle of Juanita Chupp,

Your help and prayers mean the world to us. A quick update from Dewayne, Juanita’s husband, about her treatment in Mexico: we’ve raised a little over half of the $30,000 that we need. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts—we are deeply grateful for your support.

We’ve had to adjust our approach to her cancer care. In December, her heart echocardiogram showed an ejection fraction of 56% (normal is 65%). Her two chemotherapy treatments, which have helped slow the cancer, include Herceptin because of HER2-positive cancer. One of the potential side effects of this drug is heart damage. A follow-up echocardiogram right before her second chemo showed a drop to 46%, signaling reduced heart pumping efficiency. If it drops into the 30s, that would be critical and could indicate congestive heart failure. We faced a hard choice: continue chemotherapy and risk harming the heart, or pause chemotherapy and risk cancer progression. Neither option felt right, so we looked for a third possibility.

The third option is a “cancer vaccine”—not a traditional vaccine, but built on a similar concept. We know people who’ve had remarkable results with this approach. Ideally, if this treatment would be available in the United States insurance would take care of it. But as of now it's not. In this process, the cancer-fighting T-cells and the cancer cells are extracted and then combined outside the body, enabling the T-cells to develop a targeted, antibody- or DNA-based response against the cancer cells. The T-Cells are then enhanced to create even more T-Cells. Which are then re-injected into her body to go on a cancer killing massacre. And eliminates reoccurrence. Because the T-Cells are now programmed. This process just makes so much sense and maybe in the near future this treatment can be available in United States. Juanita had the first of four injections on 4/30/26. We are both energized by this path and are standing in faith for wholeness and completeness. We trust in Jehovah Rapha, our healer. We truly believe God's hand was all over this and has led her to the Immunotherapy Institute in Tijuana, and that’s a story for another time.
