This request is not easy to write, but here we go! I humbly ask for financial assistance as I’m currently receiving Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) to help with pain related to previous traumatic brain injuries. As I’m considered a chronic case, I need a total of 40 treatments over 8 weeks in New Orleans before moving to a home treatment plan.
My brain/head doesn’t handle storm pressure changes or higher elevations well (even 1,000 feet in the winter can be quite painful), and the last few years have been even more difficult.
On this journey with my “grandson,” who almost died after a near-drowning incident on the 4th of July, 2026, I learned that Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) would not only be good for Chandler’s brain recovery but could be helpful to mine as well. www.hbot.com
As many of you know, in 2005 and 2010, I was in rear-end car accidents that dramatically changed my life. In April 2014, some of my skull was removed to give my herniated brain room, and at the same time a plate was screwed into my head with a fusion to C2 and a fusion from C4 – T1. In June 2014, C4 – C7 was fused, and in November 2023, C3 – C4 was fused. (Thank you to everyone who helped me with the November 2023 surgery! I am walking and functioning so much better now!)
Due to Chandler currently receiving 20 HBOT treatments, I don’t need to pay for accommodations during my first month in New Orleans, and I’m able to help with his little brother’s care, which is why I began treatment so quickly.
I am grateful for the couple who graciously said yes to loaning me the upfront cost of receiving the treatment so I could receive a significant discount and get started with treatment, for Chandler’s loving parents renting a home with an extra room for me, and for the team in Iraq who continue to love people well during this very important time in their restoration.
