Dear Friends,
On Labor Day, Bill and Mary Becker lost their home to a fire that started when an overcharged solar generator burst into flames.
Anyone who knows them knows that they have been diligent and conscientious homeowners their entire marriage. They steadily remodeled and improved the home and property since purchasing it in 1990.
We were blessed to recover a fair amount of photographs and some other irreplaceable family mementos. Some heirlooms were lost.
The home insurance has been very responsive. They are considering the house a total loss. They will provide temporary housing while a new house is built.
While our parents are able to attempt to itemize belongings lost for insurance purposes, it seems reasonable that there will be extra expenses that will crop up here and there.
Moreover, a number of people have asked if there’s any way they can help and may desire a tangible way to show Bill and Mary that they are thinking of them. With the long road of days and weeks ahead, even just being able to allow themselves to eat out (considered a luxury to them) without thinking about the extra cost would be a gift. Many, many thanks to the neighbors who stepped forward with clothing and pet supplies within hours and days of their loss!
With God’s grace, they will carry on bravely through this unimaginable cross.
God bless you!
