After the War Injury Isolation and Survival

Dear brothers & sisters in Christ:

I am a mother, a professional, and a woman who answered the call to serve during one of the darkest moments in recent history. For nearly a year, I deployed into a dangerous combat zone, supporting American soldiers and critical operations during the height of COVID-19. Beyond my assigned duties, I consistently volunteered my time and strength wherever help was needed—assisting others, filling critical gaps, and supporting those who were overwhelmed, sick, or vulnerable. I worked under extreme conditions, often without rest or safety, driven by a sense of duty, compassion, and faith. I was called an “Angel” because I showed up for everyone, even when it came at a cost to my own health. What I never imagined is that my service would leave me severely injured, abandoned, blacklisted, and fighting alone for my life and my only child's future. After five years of exhausting every legal, medical, governmental, and humanitarian avenue available to me, I am reaching out with humility and urgency, asking for help simply to survive and rebuild.

My Story

During my deployment, I suffered multiple traumatic injuries under intense physical and psychological stress. Instead of receiving immediate medical care, I was neglected, intimidated, and stripped of basic human dignity. I was misdiagnosed and told I had “no broken bones” despite severe pain. I was left untreated for more than five and a half weeks and denied transfer to a proper hospital. I lacked consistent access to food, clean water, transportation, and medical support. While injured and unable to move my hand, I was pressured and threatened to sign documents. I was even warned that I would be thrown outside the secure zone if I did not comply.

Eventually, I was sent home—but only after being forced to see a company-selected doctor in another country for their own interests. That physician confirmed what had been ignored for weeks: a fractured shoulder left untreated, frozen shoulder caused by delayed care that may take years to heal, a partial MCL tear in my knee, and additional injuries requiring long-term specialist treatment. I returned to the United States the next morning and was terminated by email the very same day.

A Five-Year Fight for Justice

Because my injuries occurred during deployment, I was entitled to care and compensation under the Defense Base Act (DBA). Instead, every benefit was denied. Denial letters were intentionally withheld to prevent me from appealing. For five years, I have fought every single day to access basic medical care and justice.

My injury claim was dismissed by the Department of Labor in favor of my employer and their powerful self-insured entity. My suffering, unpaid benefits, and documented mistreatment were ignored. My injuries remain largely untreated and have worsened over time due to repeated negligence and misdiagnosis. My own legal representation attempted to fabricate evidence to support the defense. Medical records were manipulated and incorrect information was shared with other doctors, compromising my care. I have been systematically blacklisted from employment, medical care, legal assistance, and essential services. Civil rights organizations, authorities, journalists, and elected officials failed to intervene. Attempts were made to damage my reputation and conceal wrongdoing.

I went from being a strong, healthy, hardworking professional mother to someone struggling daily just to survive—physically, emotionally, and financially. I lost my health, my career, my stability, and nearly everything I had. I was isolated, silenced, and made invisible. The deepest pain is watching my daughter suffer the consequences of what has been done to me—knowing that her future has been cast into uncertainty because her mother was injured under deployment, denied care and justice.

Why I Am Asking for Help Now

At this moment, I have no access to proper or trustworthy medical care, no income, untreated injuries, unstable housing, and no legal support. I am a mother trying to hold on for her daughter while my body and life continue to deteriorate.

Your support will help me:

• Receive urgent medical treatment and necessary surgeries

• Stabilize my housing and living conditions

• Afford basic necessities

• Continue fighting for my legal rights

• Regain my health and create a path back to work

• Provide safety, stability, and a future for my daughter

What Your Support Means

Any donation—no matter the amount—is a lifeline. It gives me a chance to stand again after years of being pushed down. I served with loyalty, faith, and courage. I sacrificed my health in service to others. Today, I am asking for humanity, compassion, and the opportunity to rebuild a life that was unjustly taken from me.

They may have wealth and influence, but I have faith, hope, and the strength that comes from people who choose to stand with me. Please share my story—with friends, family, journalists, attorneys, elected officials, and anyone who can help be my voice.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read my story, for your prayers, and for any support you can offer. I am fighting to survive—not just for myself, but for my daughter, whose future depends on it.

With respect and gratitude,

Angel
