Help Support Mike and His Family After a Devastating Work Accident
Early Friday morning, Mike suffered a serious work accident and was life-flighted to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. Our family is still waiting to learn what the next steps will be, but we know that Mike has a long road ahead of him and will need extensive rehabilitation.
In the weeks and months ahead, there will be many unexpected challenges for Mike and his family. Rhonda and Caiden will be making the daily commute from Ottawa to Maywood to be by Mike’s side. Mike will be unable to work for an extended period of time, and Rhonda will also need to take time away from work to care for him and help him through his recovery.
Once Mike is able to return home, their home will likely need a wheelchair ramp and other modifications and renovations to make it safe and accessible for him.
This has all happened at an incredibly difficult time for their family. Caiden is a senior this year, and Mike will unfortunately have to miss his senior night for football, which is only a couple of weeks away. There are so many moments and milestones they never expected to face without Mike being able to be there.
We are starting this fundraiser to help take some of the financial stress off of Mike and his family while they focus on what matters most: Mike’s recovery and being together as a family.
Funds raised will help with:
- Travel expenses commuting to and from Loyola
- Food and other daily expenses while at the hospital
- A ramp for their home
- Necessary home renovations and accessibility modifications
- Expenses associated with Mike being unable to work
- Other unexpected costs that come with his recovery
