60yo Army Vet. Eviction Delayed: 11/1 VA/NGO Help?

Update: 11/01 - The Deadly Sound of Silence. Change since 10/14.

Little change until kitchen fire and burns Tuesday. Housing status: APT found, applied, approved. However, Primavera/VASH require inspection. 55+ community with exceptional reviews failed inspection. Something about the 'common laundry'. Had to push through 3rd party (from hospital) to even get that info. "When fixed, I can move in." No ETA.

Given eviction notice (to all boarders) for 10/1 was extended (with begging) to 11/1, I begged again, from hospital burn unit, I begged for one more month housed until 12/1. Paid this Sunday morning after typing with two still working fingers.

I would give most anything for these last 9 months back in Tucson to not-be-real, but they very much are ... and I have restrained greatly from sharing the truly horrifying details or calling out people or organizations directly (libel). But, nearly two months after initial eviction notice and pleas for help with little veteran services feedback, constant mistakes and delays by VASH/PAV, and now burnt hands and a PAV 'inspection delay' that may cost me the right place my sound and spine disabilities ... I openly ask for advise from knowing or vehement advocates on how to fix this before it is too late. DM is open. Comment for follow.

Update 10/14/26. 🫡🪖🗽 William C. Sampson III. United States Army, 1985–1989, honorable. I am proud of that service. Sixty percent, spine and PTSD. Tucson. No vehicle. Cane, brace, and headphones most of the day because sound is a trigger. Eight months in a boarding-house room with no window. Notice to leave 1 October. I paid October rent in cash to the manager, not the owners. They still want the room back. I have lived by the Golden Rule: do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I tried to keep that line for other veterans. Now I am the one who needs it returned.

I did the steps this country asks of a veteran in trouble. National homeless-veteran line. Walk-in at the Tucson VA Homeless Clinic. Referrals to HUD-VASH, Primavera, and Legal Aid. I declined a same-day bunk because I need a lock and quiet. The phones went quiet. Primavera later approved assistance. VASH finally sat with me on 9 October, eighteen days after the clinic was told. The City of Tucson holds the voucher. Three desks. No key. My faith is shaken under the weight of it. I have not quit. I am still standing, and I am still asking for a door in the country I served.

🔘 Notice still stands. No new paper seen.

🔘 October rent accepted. Post-it only. No refund if removed.

🔘 Primavera: approved. Thursday appointment missed (wrong bus). Not rescheduled.

🔘 VASH: met 9 October. Eva, case manager. Ceiling in 85711 about $937–$970 for a one-bedroom.

🔘 Target: The Place at Wilmot North. Two first-floor one-bedrooms inside the cap. Not seen in person.

🔘 Primavera can cover deposit, fees, and first month. VASH after. Not in writing in hand.

🔘 Another veteran next door received a notice and is gone.

🔘 Still in the room. Still no latch. Still proud to have served.

This page is for a legal bridge and a door. Not a lifestyle. If a desk produces the key, the need shrinks. God bless the people who stood in.

Stay strong. Stay free. 💪🗽We Served. We Report.
