A little back story For various reasons I worked my last day at my previous job a week ago, so I’m currently without a job. As I’ve looked into different job options here in Ohio nothing seemed right. Which led me to asking God if not here in Ohio, where do you want me to go? Having spent a week at Hillcrest In Arkansas a few months back it was definitely on my mind as a “someday” opportunity. After much prayer and thinking I had to wonder, maybe my “someday” is now. I asked for an application but hadn’t filled it out as there seemed to be to many things that made it seem impossible to go serve. So I let it sit in my WhatsApp and proceeded to look at other options and set up an interview at a local coffee shop. As I lay wide awake one night and praying about the whole job search thing I felt like God was telling me to submit the application to Hillcrest and trust him to work out the unknowns. So the next day I filled it out and sent it in, and am waiting to hear back. For me, going to serve through Hillcrest doesn’t cost anything other than the time commitment, love, and whole lot of work. However personally there is some financial support that is needed for me to be able to go and serve a 15 month term. I’m needing to raise $7,000 to be able to cover some of my monthly bills while serving. Your support/help to make this experience possible, I will forever be grateful!
I’m excited for this new opportunity to continue to grow in Christ, and as a person as I step out of my comfort zone and serve alongside others as we care for the elderly!
