Husbands sudden passing jeopardizer’s homestead farm.

On April 21, 2025, our beloved Albert Preciado passed away suddenly from a major cardiac arrest after a long and courageous battle with blood cancer. His loss was unexpected—in previous recent months, he seemed to be doing well, holding on to hope, and continuing to work toward the life he and his wife Amber Preciado had envisioned together.

Albert and Amber were building their dream—a peaceful homestead farm in the quiet countryside of Colmesneil, East Texas. It was their shared vision of a simple, meaningful life rooted in nature, hard work, and love. Going on two years, Albert poured his heart and soul into making that dream come true. Even while sick and on a fixed disability income, he worked tirelessly every single day—caring for animals, building structures, planting roots, and shaping their land. I remember asking him once why he didn’t take a break. His response was simple and powerful:

“I have to get this done. I want to leave something behind for Amber.” Their goal has always been for their children and grandchildren to carry on the homestead dream that they have made into a reality.

That was Albert. Selfless. Determined. Full of love.

Now, Amber is left to carry on alone. She works full-time at a local restaurant and is now responsible for the farm, the animals, the unfinished greenhouse, and all the daily chores Albert used to manage. With Albert's passing, his disability income has stopped, leaving Amber with the weight of the mortgage and mounting responsibilities.

One of Albert’s relatives started a GoFundMe shortly after his passing to help with funeral expenses, and the support received was a true blessing. But the larger battle remains—the dream they built together is now at risk of being lost.

That’s why I’ve started this new campaign: to save the farm.

The goal is to raise enough to pay off the mortgage and ensure that Amber doesn’t lose the land Albert worked so hard to build. We want to honor his legacy, protect the fruits of his labor, and give Amber a real chance to live out the dream they both held so dearly.
