Stand with Lone Juror in Lindsay Clancy Case

Hello, my name is Paul Middleton. I’m reaching out because I believe what has happened to the lone juror in the Lindsay Clancy trial deserves serious attention.

I fully support this juror. I’m aware that there are fraudulent GiveSendGo accounts claiming to collect money on his behalf, so I will make sure any donation I give goes directly to the legitimate fundraiser for this man.

I’m supporting him because I believe it is the right thing to do. A person should not be attacked, pressured, or abandoned simply for standing by their conscience and their decision as a juror. Something like this could happen to anyone, and I believe people deserve support when they are put in that position.

Since the mistrial, this juror has faced an extraordinary amount of public criticism. Fellow jurors have gone on television and spoken publicly about him, his actions during deliberations have been scrutinized in the media, and harsh statements have been made questioning his motives, judgment, and character. He has essentially found himself standing alone while people who disagree with his decision have been given national platforms to tell their side of the story.

Regardless of anyone’s personal opinion about Lindsay Clancy or the ultimate outcome of this case, I believe we should be concerned when a private citizen performs his civic duty as a juror, reaches an independent conclusion, and then becomes the target of intense public pressure because he refused to agree with the other eleven jurors. The entire purpose of a jury is for twelve individuals to examine the evidence independently. A juror should not have to fear public humiliation, personal attacks, or having his private life investigated simply because he refused to change his position.

That is why I believe those of us who support his right to stand by his judgment need to come together. We can combine our resources, share reliable information, correct misinformation, and make sure that another side of this story is heard.

Supporters have also begun contributing financially through a fundraiser established for the juror. Those donations are intended to help with expenses such as security, legal representation, and lost wages as he deals with the attention surrounding this case. Anyone considering contributing should make sure they are donating through the verified fundraiser and understand exactly where their money is going.

This is bigger than agreeing or disagreeing with one verdict. It is about protecting the principle that jurors must be able to deliberate independently without fearing that they will be publicly destroyed afterward for reaching an unpopular conclusion.

If you believe the lone juror deserves to have his rights, privacy, and perspective respected, I encourage you to stand with us, share credible information, and support legitimate efforts to assist him. We need to combine our voices and resources and make sure he knows that he is not standing alone.
