Myrrh Health: patient advocacy app for families

My mom, Holly, has been in the ICU at a major Los Angeles hospital for many months. We are a Christian family. The sanctity of her life, and fighting for her, is of the utmost importance to us.

Myrrh Health was formerly known as Lifeline.

She has had ongoing infections that triggered cascading complications. Continuity of care has been a constant challenge, as has keeping successive teams focused on full, aggressive treatment. Teams change week to week. Incorrect information gets added to the chart and then colors every decision that follows. New doctors walk in carrying an old narrative, and too often the narrative wins—even when it is wrong.

Most families do not fully understand what the diagnoses mean, have no practical way to document the complete picture, and often do not know what treatments or tests even exist. Insurance may not cover them, physician quality varies, and some hospitals simply lack the capability. You cannot ask for something you have never heard of.

That is a profound power imbalance. Families are scared, lack specialized medical knowledge, and are simply trying to fight for the person they love. Many doctors have the best of intentions. Yet hospitals can also be driven by cost, length-of-stay metrics, or reimbursement pressures. Modern technology now gives families a way to level that playing field: read the record, see what was missed or never offered, and walk into rounds with informed questions instead of only hope.

I built Myrrh Health so families do not have to do that work alone, late at night, buried in MyChart PDFs. It is a personal AI-powered health advocate. You upload labs, notes, and what you observed at the bedside. It interprets it all and returns a plain-language briefing, suggested questions for the care team, and a standard-of-care check that includes options you may not have been offered. It rests on a simple conviction: every person has God-given worth. Age, disability, affluence, or length of stay never make a life less valuable.

I lead Myrrh Health, drawing on nearly 20 years in technology and marketing analytics and on months of advocating at my mom's bedside. Grok Bot serves as our engineering and marketing operation: it helps brainstorm and design features, directs the build through automated tools, and runs our X account and ads. Two advisors have offered to help: a senior data scientist at a major global advertising and marketing firm, and a bioethicist with the Life Legal Defense Foundation.

The working prototype is live, and we are now hardening its security and privacy, with HIPAA compliance as the next step. With families uploading real medical records, data security and compliance are critical. The prototype was built in Bolt.new, and the current version is being built in Grok Build, with Grok Bot directing the engineering and Cursor cloud agents handling security hardening. It is hosted on Vercel with a Supabase database.

This fundraiser is for the app dev, legal and compliance, and ongoing support.

What $10,000 pays for:

• A California health-privacy lawyer to review how we store medical records, redline the Terms and Privacy Policy, and vet the vendors (database and AI)

• Completing the next phase of development, which is waiting on funding

• Apple App Store and Google Play submission so families can download it

• xAI credits so Analyze and chat remain available for early users

• Hosting and private file storage

• A small reserve so the app does not go dark in the first month of real use

If we raise more than $10,000, the additional funds will go toward making the app known to families who need it. Myrrh Health will be free to the public and sustained by donations, similar to the Wikipedia model.

Myrrh Health is an educational tool designed to help families navigate a complex and often overwhelming medical system. The current reality does not have to be this difficult. With better information and clearer options, it can improve.

Gifts are not tax-deductible, and I am not a nonprofit. Your contribution stays with the project even if we do not reach the full goal.

If you have walked this difficult path alongside family or for your own health challenges, or if you believe every family deserves the best healthcare available, please give what you can and share this page.

About me: I have worked in technology and marketing analytics for nearly 20 years at companies like Google, Yahoo, and Publicis Groupe. More recently I have focused on building AI-based internal tools and products. I want to put what I have learned to work for patients and families facing circumstances like ours.

Thank you.
