Liberty Hill United Methodist Church is a community of faith founded in 2003 out of Hillside UMC in Woodstock. Though our physical home has changed many times, our home has always been Canton. In 2010, Liberty Hill moved into our first space in The Mill on Etowah, a historic textile mill in the heart of Canton. Since then our physical space within the mill building has changed greatly, but our heart for following Jesus remains the same.
Our church takes seriously the call of Christ to be missional, inclusive, compassionate, connected, and committed. Whether hosting foster families in our space, packing food boxes for our unhoused neighbors, or hosting events with local businesses and nonprofits, we strive to serve Canton and love our city. We take pride in being a community that welcomes all people and serve as a lighthouse for those who have experienced church trauma, part of the LGBTQ community, and all who are seeking a place of belonging, in Cherokee County and beyond.
We believe God is calling us to grow deeper, reach farther, and plant seeds that will impact generations. As we’ve grown as a church, we’ve found others cheering our ministry on from outside of Cherokee County, so we are creating a space where you can contribute to our community impact and invest in our future.

What Your Gift Does
Instead of giving to a deficit, you’re fueling moments of impact:
● $25 = A month of supplies for children’s ministry
● $50 = A foster family dinner & childcare night
● $100 = Tech and livestream upgrades to reach those at home
● $250 = Helps sustain our community partnerships (MUST Ministries, Habitat for Humanity, Goshen Valley, etc.)
● $1,000+ = Fuels lasting impact through events like Cherokee’s Got Talent, blood drives, and more
You can also choose to give to a specific ministry area (membership growth, community engagement, resources) to fuel ministries that most speak to you. All donors will receive monthly updates, exclusive content from our leadership team, and a special recognition in our physical worship space.
