Kristen is at risk of losing her house. Kristen has suffered for most of her lifetime from debilitating migraines due to Chiari Malformation. She has had many treatments, medications and I believe 7 surgeries over the years to try to alleviate the migraines. 

After many years with a very patient employer, she was finally let go from her job in early 2025. She had applied for disability, but after about a year long wait, she was denied and is now awaiting the appeal process, which can take up to a year or two.

She had gotten a moratorium on making mortgage payments, but that will come to an end on June 1. She is unable to move into her mother’s house because it is in disrepair from a prior plumbing leak and needs mold remediation. This is on top of the fact that her migraines really keep her from being able to pack & purge in preparation for losing/selling her house

In addition, she has become a caretaker along with her aunt, as her mother is aging and is experiencing several health issues: afib, TIA’s, hernia, and injuries from frequent falls. Recently Kristen sadly quipped: Since last June she's slowly going downhill. She was always taking me to the ER and now I'm taking her.

Let’s help Kristen keep her house! Every dollar helps. These funds could tide her over until her disability case gets through the appeal process, God-willing.

Who am I: I met Kristen around 2009 hanging out with a group of mostly single women who liked to watch local live bands and dance. Sherlock’s was our favorite spot. RIP Sherlock’s. After I got remarried and moved to Conroe, we had infrequent interactions mostly via FB or Messenger. I would ask about her migraines, learning that they were becoming more & more frequent and severe without successful remedy.

Fast forward to the fall of 2024, when I get a random call from my aunt asking: How do you know Kristen, who is she to you? Long story short, I end up learning that SHE is the baby my aunt and uncle gave up for adoption in Houston as a young couple some +/- 46 years ago!! This friend I used to hang out with - was my cousin!! Imagine how shocked Kristen was not just to that news, but that she would soon meet her birth parents from a DNA match she had done months earlier and had sort of forgotten about! God works in mysterious ways.

My aunt and uncle both had severe COVID, one nearly dying after 90% ventilator in ICU. They are both retired and have long-COVID issues, one now wheelchair bound. So unfortunately, they are not able to help Kristen in a significant way to prevent this impending foreclosure.
