Help Bring Emmy’s Service Dog Home

We are incredibly grateful to share that Emmy’s service dog journey is becoming a reality.

Our community has rallied around Emmy in a way we never could have imagined, helping us raise the funds required by 4 Paws for Ability for her service dog. Now, we’re preparing for the next part of this journey: bringing her dog home.

When Emmy’s service dog is ready, our family will travel to Ohio to complete 10 full days of intensive, hands-on training, with one scheduled break day during the program. During those training days, we’ll learn how to safely work with Emmy’s dog, practice the specific tasks the dog has been trained to perform for her, and learn how to continue building their partnership once we return home.

Because we’ll need to remain in Ohio throughout the training program, we anticipate approximately 11 nights away from home.

We’ve set a goal of $8,000 to help cover the estimated cost of:

• Round-trip airfare for our family — $2,500 • Lodging for 11 nights — $2,500 • Rental vehicle — $1,000 • Meals and groceries — $1,200 • Gas and parking — $250 • Baggage, dog supplies and other travel expenses — $550

Estimated total: $8,000

This fundraiser is specifically for the expenses associated with traveling to Ohio, completing Emmy’s required training, and bringing her service dog home.
