Last month, I stumbled upon a heartbreaking video of an elderly woman in Northern Ghana, shunned and rejected by her community simply because she was unable to provide for herself financially. This wasn't just any old lady; this was someone who once brought joy into the lives of many but now faced extreme isolation due to societal neglect and poverty.
This scene left me shaken—it felt like a personal affront against humanity’s innate need to care, support one another when times are tough. It sparked something within me that I can't shake off: I knew then and there that we had to do more than just watch helplessly from afar.
But here’s the crux of our mission—in Northern Ghana, thousands face similar fates every day. Widows labelled as witches due to their inability to provide for themselves or their families are ostracized, denied basic human rights and survival needs like food and shelter. And children? Many suffer malnutrition, missing out on education, sometimes even their childhoods.
