Hello everyone! This is Sakae Kishida, a fundraiser for El Pedregal Cultural Institute (Institute Cultura El Pedregal).
Our academy is a small private organization led by Miriam Espín Elizalde, a certified elementary school teacher. We operate a free kindergarten and elementary school in a rural mountain village in Morelos, southern Mexico. Currently, our kindergarten serves nine children—primarily three-year-olds—providing diverse lessons and nutritious meals four to five days a week. Our elementary program currently supports four students.
We are located in El Pedregal, a small community of fewer than 1,000 residents. While there is a public school in the village, many children are left without options if they cannot adapt to its environment, fail to secure a spot due to enrollment limits, or if their families cannot afford the associated costs. Although schools in neighboring towns exist, the daily transportation costs and travel time make them inaccessible for most families. Our mission is to fill this gap by providing high-quality, free alternative education within the community.
Our curriculum places a strong emphasis on environmental education and the arts. We balance classroom learning with significant time dedicated to outdoor physical education and nature observation.
Although we are situated within a vast national park south of Mexico City, the surrounding forests have been rapidly shrinking due to unregulated and illegal agricultural expansion. Protecting the local ecosystem is a critical long-term challenge for our entire community. By nurturing a new generation with a deep love for nature and a strong moral compass, we aim to pass on the knowledge and values needed to shift our local environment and society from deterioration toward restoration.
Our greatest challenge is the lack of a stable financial foundation to sustain these educational activities over the long term. Currently, our operations are funded by my personal salary as a translator (I am the husband of Miriam, our director) and by the generous support of Miriam’s friends in Switzerland. However, this financial base remains extremely fragile. To continue our mission, we urgently need broader and more consistent support.

Your contributions go directly toward school operations, including the salaries of our three dedicated staff members (Miriam and I serve without pay), educational materials, and the nutritious daily meals that are vital for our children's growth.

メキシコの山村にある幼稚園・小学校のサポーターになってください！
こんにちは、みなさん。岸田栄（きしださかえ）と申します。 エル・ペドレガル文化学院（Institute Cultura El Pedregal）で資金調達を担当しています。
私たちの学院は、小学校教師の資格を持つミリアム・エスピン・エリザルデが代表を務める小規模な民間団体です。私たちは、メキシコ南部モレロス州の山村で、無料の幼稚園と小学校を運営しています。 現在幼稚園では、３歳児を中心に、９名の幼児が一緒に学んでいます。ここでは週に４～５日、各種の授業と健康的な給食を提供しています。いっぽう小学部では、現在、４名の児童が学んでいます。
私たちが暮らすエル・ペドレガルは人口1000人にも満たない、メキシコ山間部の小さな山村です。村内には他にも１校、幼稚園と小学校を兼ねた公立校がありますが、そこの学校になじめなかったり、入学定員の中に入れなかったり、各種の必要費用が支払えない家庭の子どもたちは、この村で学校教育を受ける選択肢が他にありません。場合によっては少し離れた別の町まで通う選択肢もありますが、日々の交通費や通学時間などの観点から、よそに通うのは現実的に難しいのが現状です。だからこそ私たちの学院が、この地域において、質の高い無料の代替教育の機会を提供しようしているのです。
当校では特に、環境教育とアートの授業に力を入れています。室内での授業だけではなく、野外での体育や自然観察にも多くの時間を取っています。
当校が立地するのは、首都南郊に広がる広大な国立公園エリアに含まれる（本来的には）自然豊かなエリアですが、近年では無秩序で不法な農地拡大などの影響で森林地帯が目に見えて縮小しており、全コミュニティとして地域環境の悪化をいかに食い止めていくかが長期的な課題となっています。当校では、自然を深く愛する繊細な感性とモラルを身に着けた新たな世代の育成を通じて、当地の自然と社会を、悪化ではなく改善の方向にシフトできるよう、私たちが持つ知識と経験を子供たちに伝えています。
目下の大きな課題は、これらの教育活動を長期的に継続するための安定した経済基盤を欠いていることです。今現在、私たちの幼稚園と保育園の運営資金は、翻訳者として働く私、岸田栄の個人給与からの充当金と（私は当学院代表のミリアムの夫です）、スイスに住むミリアムの友人からの援助によってまかなわれていますが、財政基盤は非常に脆弱だと言わざるを得ません。多くの人たちからの、より強固な支援を必要としています。
ぜひとも、この募金プラットフォームのマンスリーサポーター（毎月一定額を寄付するサポーター）として私たちの幼稚園/保育園を経済的にご支援いただけますよう、関係者一同、真摯に希望しています。ここで集まった寄付金は、本校の教職員（有給職員３名。代表のミリアムと私・岸田は無給です。他にもボランティアベースで手伝ってくれている方がいます）の給与、教材費、子供たちが毎日食べる健康的な給食の費用を含めた、学校運営資金として活用されます。
もちろん、金額の多少を問わず、１回限定の寄付も歓迎いたします。
