It was one summer evening, just like any other. I found myself wrapped in the familiar warmth of my home when the doorbell rang—a rare interruption to our family quiet time. It was an unexpected visitor with news that would forever alter our lives: Mr. Buchanan had been accused of a crime, and the weight of suspicion threatened to upend everything we knew as normal.

In July 2004 Johnathan Buchanan was 26 years old. A husband to Natasha and a father to Ulesley Jr. and Johnathan Jr. At the time he was an ordained minister at the church and working two jobs to help support his family. That day he was working an shift of 7a.m -3p.m at the Holiday Inn Airport in Birmingham. Then straightway to help set up for the annual " Summer Gospel" tent revival. Staying to the end after hearing a dynamic word from Evangelist Robbi Warren, he had to help take down the stage setting. Going through the bumps in a marriage Mr. Buchanaan tried to stay busy with work and ministry and doing so, he failed to see the enemy creep in his home. When he got home, the world that he once knew have been changed. He was arrested for sexually assaulting and sodomizing his 5 year old step son. During the trial there was no witnesses or evidence tying him to the crime. Mr. Buchanan stated that he havent seen his son because had been over his foster- grandparents house and during the week Ulesley had been with his mother visiting his cousins and grandparents.Mr. Buchanan has always maintained his innocence. The only thing used to convict him was a lie from the child (5 Years old).

Fast forward to today, and the truth is unraveling like never before. New evidence has surfaced—evidence so compelling it's hard not to feel that the scales of justice have been tipped in the wrong direction for too long. A key witness, under duress, had once testified against Mr. Buchanan. But now? Now he tell us, with a quiver in his voice, about coercion and manipulation, painting a picture far from what was initially believed. Ulesley has confessed to lying and said his mom told him to say those words. 

The stakes are high: not just for justice's sake or even because of the potential injustice done to one man—though these indeed weigh heavily upon my heart—but also for the community at large. Trust in institutions is fraying; faith in humanity sometimes feels like a fragile thread.
