My name is Joseph — but most people just call me Bushy.

I’m a survivor of an unprovoked violent gang assault that left me with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and ongoing complications. I now live with post-concussion syndrome, hearing damage, neurological issues, and mental health struggles from the grief.

Despite everything, I’m not giving up — but I need help to keep going.

• URGENT – Lawyer Disbursements ($12,500)

• Medical and neurological appointments

• Travel, parking, and accomodation costs for appointments

• Hearing, ENT, and Vestibular treatment

• Support with organising overwhelming case documentation

• Basic living costs when I’m unable to work

I’m currently supported by the Disability Support Pension, which helps with essentials — but doesn’t come close to covering treatment or specialist care.

I’ve also begun a Public Liability / Personal Injury claim, which is ongoing. LawAid rejected sponsorship for the legal costs, and I’ll be sharing details about expected disbursements once they’re confirmed.
