My friend Dana has been fighting cancer for years but was re-staged with Stage 4 breast cancer (an aggressive cancer), in the spring of 2023. Due to the spread of the lesions she was given a poor prognosis. She has relentlessly fought over the last 7 years, receiving many rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgeries, not without side effects. Despite the hurdles and setbacks, Dana is determined to fight harder to bring her body back to a healthy state.

Here's what you need to know about Dana. Between treatments, she makes handmade quilted totes, mastectomy pillows, and prayer pocket hearts for other cancer patients. Because she knows what it feels like to need someone to show up. That's who she is.

She travels between Pensacola and Jacksonville for specialized care. The cost of fighting this disease is relentless with the treatments, the travel, and the medical procedures insurance won't cover.
