- ? **Our Journey Begins with You** ?
I never thought I'd find myself in this position, asking for help. It’s hard to believe that something as simple and hopeful as crowdfunding could feel like such an uphill battle. But here we are, standing at the edge of uncertainty, facing a mountain of financial challenges. My name is Marshall, and today, I’m sharing our story—a tale of struggle, resilience, and hope.
Let me take you back to that fateful day when my world turned upside down. It was more than just a health crisis; it was a gut-wrenching shock as the doctor solemnly explained my diagnosis: a blood clot in my leg that moved and caused me to have a DVT and a pulmonary embolism. I got lucky and was only in the hospital for 3 days. Thats how I ended up on the oxygen 24/7, and it also made me very weak. After that I got to see a pulmanary doctor and that led to the diagnosis of severe stage 3 COPD. The journey since has been anything but easy—I’m on oxygen 24/7, and life at home revolves around managing this condition while also trying to keep up with daily responsibilities like caring for our small family of animals, taking care of my wife who does most of the heavy lifting here, and supporting her in looking after her elderly disabled mother and brother.
The financial burden has been immense, especially as I’ve had to rely on disability income, barely scraping by at $1500 a month. And yet, we face another looming crisis: our home loan is a bit over $3200 per month—a debt that feels heavier than the oxygen tank strapped to me every day. We are living off an SSDI payment of just over $1500 each month and the home loan proceeds in the bank. I worry about what happens when even this lifeline runs dry. The costs per month include all the normal bills that come along with running a household, lights, gas, internet, and all the rest of the many monthly bills and medical bills not covered by insurance.
Our current solution? A home loan through a private individual, who was kind enough to give us a loan on the house a couple of years ago, and the refinance several months ago,has been our only source of income, besides my monthly disability payments and now even that source is almost gone. I am hoping I can talk to this person and see if he can help in any other way, but I just dont know. But it’s not enough—we need more support. This is where you come in. Your help isn't just financial; it’s a beacon of hope that shines brighter than the darkness we face daily. We are asking for your kindness and generosity to bridge this gap so that we can breathe easier about our future, secure in knowing there’s one less thing standing between us and peace of mind. We just need to get something in the bank so we can continue to live here and keep our small family of animals together with us. We are working daily to figure out what we are going to be able to do in the future , but we need some immediate help to keep us going until we are able to figure out the future.
"Every little bit helps," my wife often reminds me—and it's true. Your donation could mean the difference between managing financially or sinking into despair. It’s about more than money; it’s a lifeline thrown across stormy seas, helping to pull our family back from the brink of financial ruin and into calmer waters. If you can help we really appreciate you but if you cant please pass this on to the people you know and maybe they can.
Will you join us in this fight? Will you help keep hope alive for my wife, our animals, and all those who depend on us? Your support could be what keeps not just me breathing but also preserving a home where love and kindness have always prevailed. I dont know what would happen if we cant pay our next mortgage payment, but realistically, he basicly could take our home and put us on the streets. I am not even healthy enough to move the 20 plus years of stuff in our home let alone have somewhere to put it all. This home is all We have from my mother and father, and I really dont want to lose it. That would probably kill me in the process. That is just what happened to my father after he moved my mother into this home from Montana. He didnt even last long enough to see all the boxes emptied and put away. I moved down here the day he died in 2003 and have been here since. I married my wife Aurora in 2011 and she has been my rock since then. This year will be our 15th anniversary. My wife and I took care of my mother with her many health issues instead of moving into our own place and abandoning her with her issues. My mother suddenly and unexpectedly passed in 2020 from her health issues. We have been trying to keep the house any way we can because it is all thats left of the family trust. Now we are reaching out to the public in hopes that we can get this story out there to some good loving people that I know are still out there, hoping for help from some wonderfull people that this reaches.??
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Marshall, Aurora and the animals we call our children!!
