Support St. Irene's Orphanage — Practical Help for Children in Uganda

St. Irene's is a Christian orphanage in urban Uganda, outside the capital. It is run by Meddy and “Momma” Amina, who together care for more than 40 permanent resident children. The orphanage also serves as a temporary safe haven for at-risk children who need immediate shelter, food, and protection.

Many of the children living there lost their parents at a young age or were living in extremely difficult conditions. St. Irene’s provides the basics that every child should have: daily meals, clothing, education, safety, and stability.

We are launching this fundraiser to strengthen the orphanage so it can continue operating and become more self-sufficient.

What the funds will support

1. Chicken Coop Project

A small poultry project will allow the orphanage to produce its own eggs and eventually chickens for food. This lowers long-term food costs and creates a sustainable source of nutrition for the children.

2. Daily Cost of Living

Basic necessities are constant:

• Food staples (rice, beans, maize, vegetables)

• Clean water

• Clothing and shoes for growing children

• School supplies and educational needs

3. Emergency Medical Fund

A bank account has recently been opened for the orphanage. Part of this fundraiser will build a dedicated emergency medical reserve so the children can receive immediate care when illness or injury occurs.

4. Basic Childhood Items

Small things matter. We hope to provide simple toys and activities for the children such as:

• Soccer balls and sports equipment

• Basic games

• Items that allow them to simply be children

This fundraiser is not about dramatic speeches or emotional manipulation. The reality is simple: resources in rural Uganda are limited, and practical support directly improves the daily lives of these children.

Every donation—whether small or large—helps provide stability, food, and opportunity for the children living at St. Irene’s Orphanage.
